Bio

Amy Lacey is a singer, actress and dancer who has been performing for the last fifteen years in the greater Houston area, greater Cincinnati area, and now sunny Central Florida. She is a recent graduate of University of Central Florida's BFA Musical Theatre program and Dance Minor.

Amy expressed versatility in many roles at Theatre UCF, including Alice Murphy in Bright Star (for which she was one of ten honorees for Best Performer in a Musical 2023 by the Orlando Sentinel and an Irene Ryan Acting Award semifinalist), and Johanna in Sweeney Todd at UCF Celebrates the Arts. Other favorite roles include Katherine in Newsies, Mary Poppins in Mary Poppins, and Julia Peel in the workshop, world premiere and original cast recording of McBride's Call.

Starting this spring, Amy will be an actor at Universal Orlando Resort's Islands of Adventure! She is also very excited to be playing Sandy in Grease at the historic Athens Theatre from April 11th-May 4th, 2025.

In her free time, Amy is a social butterfly! She loves going on adventures around Central Florida and being outdoors. A self-proclaimed nerd, she also enjoys dramaturgy, writing, and research. You can also find her being a gluten-free foodie and wannabe chef, rewatching the Star Wars films, or curating the best pop/indie Spotify playlists for every mood.

Mission

Amy views theatre as a platform to evoke radical empathy and catharsis in audiences of all ages. She believes in using inspiring stories as a way to awaken imaginations, change hearts, and stir excitement and hope for the endless possibilities of life. These shared experiences are what brings us together.

Amy aims to bring fierce compassion, curiosity, a driven work ethic and a lighthearted sense of humor to every rehearsal space. She finds joy in approaching her music and character work with ingenuity, depth, and a meticulous attention to detail. She is always itching to take on a new artistic challenge, and seeks out any opportunity to learn and grow as a human and performer.

what critics are saying:
"Alice is the heart and soul of the show, and Amy Lacey gives a beautiful performance —really two performances — as the older, scarred by life woman and her younger self looking at a life filled with promise. Lacey's voice also finds all the right emotion in the bluegrass score."
